Celebrant Terms & Conditions

Booking & Payments

A $250 confirmation and date deposit is required to secure your ceremony date. This includes lodgement of your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) and becomes non-refundable once the NOIM has been submitted.

The remaining balance is payable 14 days prior to the ceremony date.

Cancellations

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

  • More than 30 days’ notice: Deposit retained

  • 14–29 days’ notice: 50% of remaining balance payable

  • 8–13 days’ notice: 75% of remaining balance payable

  • Less than 7 days’ notice: 100% of remaining balance payable

These fees cover preparation, paperwork, and loss of booking opportunity.

If the Celebrant is unable to perform the ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to arrange a replacement. If this is not possible, a full refund or change of date will be offered.

Ceremony Timing

The Celebrant will arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the agreed start time.

If the ceremony is delayed more than 15 minutes, a fee of $50 per 15 minutes applies. The Celebrant reserves the right to leave after 20 minutes if both parties have not arrived or the ceremony cannot proceed.

If delays impact subsequent bookings, the Celebrant may need to depart.

Changes to Date or Location

All changes must be advised as soon as possible. If within 48 hours, notification must be made by phone. Additional travel or time fees may apply.

For wet weather venue changes, one party must personally notify the Celebrant by the agreed time.

Unsafe or surprise locations (including darkness, wet weather, mountains, or hazardous terrain) may result in rescheduling and additional fees.

Personal Ceremony Content

Any questionnaires or personal story information must be returned no later than one month prior to the ceremony. Late submissions may result in a shorter, non-personalised ceremony.

Intoxication & Medication

Both parties must arrive sober and able to understand the ceremony. If either party appears intoxicated or impaired, the Celebrant is legally unable to proceed.

Please notify the Celebrant if prescribed medication may affect demeanour.

Witnesses

Two witnesses aged 18+ are required and must appear sober. Alternative witnesses may be used if required.

PA System

Use of the Celebrant’s PA system (if Included) is weather permitting and at the Celebrant’s discretion. While every effort is made to ensure functionality, equipment failure cannot be guaranteed and no liability is accepted.

Photography & Marketing

The Parties grant permission for ceremony images to be used for marketing and social media unless advised otherwise in writing prior to the ceremony.

Additional Costs

Any extra costs incurred due to delays or changes (including parking or travel) will be payable by the Parties.

Legal Obligations

The Celebrant will explain all legal requirements. The Parties agree to comply fully. Any questions or concerns must be raised immediately.
